The coded operation “Next” is finalized. Four people were arrested after trying to spend 35,755 euros undeclared. Denis Menelli, Agim Idrizi, Tritan Biba and Frenki Fezo have been arrested by the police. According to the police, 2 of the arrested citizens were drivers of the bus where they had hidden the money. “During the operation, the police services stopped the bus driven by citizen Denis Menelli for inspection.
During the inspection by the Police, this citizen got off the bus and gave a sum of money to a citizen who was traveling in another vehicle. From the investigative actions, it is suspected that Denis Menelli (the first bus driver) and the citizen Agim Idrizi (the second bus driver) were trying to introduce a large amount of euros into Albania, which in order to avoid declaring it to the customs authorities, they had divided it into several parts, to give it to citizens Tritan Biba and Frenki Zenko who were traveling in another vehicle.
During the physical check on these citizens and the check on the bus, the police services found 35,755 euros and 70 francs, which were seized as material evidence”, the police announcement states.
So the procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor’s Office, for further observations, for the offense “Failure to declare money and valuables at the border”.
