Bledi Çuçi, in a media conference, took stock of the work in the Assembly as well as the agreements made by the government. He spoke about the situation in the Assembly, where he said that it is normalized and that there was a fruitful session. Çuçi focused on the Criminal Amnesty and the agreement with Italy on pensions, as two of the achievements of the socialist government this season.
“Among the acts, the most important for the public was the criminal amnesty. It was delayed but passed by a broad consensus.
I believe that they benefited a considerable number of convicts. 1803 convicts have benefited, a part has been released from prison and another part has received a reduced sentence.
There has been a social impact, I believe, and the benefits that criminal amnesties bring around the world. Another important moment was the ratification of the agreement with Italy on pensions.
It is worth noting the protocol in the field of immigration, where this Assembly ratified this protocol, an agreement between the two governments. It is important because Albania is at a moment where it has offered solidarity, not only with our strategic goalkeeper, but I believe that it has set an extraordinary example. Albania has made a contribution, almost a model for the EU in relation to immigration,” said Çuçi.
