Albania and Italy have signed this Tuesday morning the final document of the agreement on the mutual recognition of social security. The agreement in question was signed by the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania, Igli Hasani, and his Italian counterpart, Antonio Tajani.
This historic agreement will benefit 300-500 thousand Albanians in Italy and many Italians who have worked and made social contributions in our country.
Through the agreement, old-age pensions, insurance for sickness benefits, as well as unemployment insurance will be covered for both Albanians living in Italy and Italian citizens living and working in Albania and making their contributions here.
The reciprocal agreement combines the years of contributions in both countries and the citizen receives two different pensions in both countries. After that, the agreement on pensions must be ratified by the parliaments of both countries, then it enters into force immediately.
