Rama reacts after house arrest measure on former PM Berisha

At the same time that the Prime Minister, Edi Rama holds the annual conference, GJKKO (Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime) made the decision to toughen the measure against the former Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, into house arrest.

Rama reacted by stating that it is not a party’s victory to arrest someone, of any party. He also emphasized the fact that political parties are not fighting organizations that function to eliminate opponents.

This is in principle, parties win elections to move the country forward and parties are not militant organizations that function to eliminate opponents. So I don’t see it as a victory for the Socialist party. This has nothing to do with the desire, the objective, the need to see as a victory the fact that whoever it is, they are put under pressure and under the measures of justice.

Also, there is no justice in this country until January 21 is judged. Without being judged on January 21 and without bringing the murderers and the perpetrators to justice, justice will be morally crippled and insufficient in terms of its power. January 21 will set an immovable stone as far as the exercise of the state’s force can and cannot go as a result of its abuse by persons wearing power,” said Rama, among other things.
