Christian believers celebrate christmas throughout Albania

Catholic and Orthodox believers all over the world celebrate the holiday of Christmas, while praying for more prosperity, health and prosperity in their family bosom.

As in any other country, in Albanian believers light candles and pray for health. In the “Resurrection of Christ” Cathedral in Tirana, this Monday morning Christmas mass was held by Orthodox believers.

There were many Orthodox believers in the capital, who went to the church to participate in the prayer ceremony. On their part, the Catholic believers held their mass at midnight, while they prayed and wished each other a Merry and White Christmas.

Christmas is the second most important holiday in the calendar of Catholic and Orthodox believers, after Easter.

According to Orthodox and Catholic belief, on this day the savior Jesus Christ, the son of God, was born from the Virgin Mary.

While in the “St. Shtjefni” cathedral, the Holy Mass was celebrated by the Archbishop of Shkodra, Angelo Massafra, at the same time President of the Episcopal Conference of Albania.

In his message, Archbishop Massafra called for forgiveness among people, more love and solidarity towards each other. He also made a call for peace everywhere in the world, even in the countries where the war is still going on.

Undoubtedly, the celebrations could not be missed in the city of Durrës. The Christmas Eve Mass was held at the Saint Dominic Catholic Church in the area of the former Swamp.

In the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ in Korça, the faithful waited for the birth of Christ in the mass led by the gracious Metropolitan Johan.

Wishes for more peace and love have come from citizens and tourists themselves.

In the church of Saint George in the city of Fier, the mass of the resurrection of Christ was held and the services were performed by the Metropolitan of Apollonia and Fier, Monsignor Nikola.

In his message to the believers present, Monsignor Nikola said that the holy mass is the commemoration of the suffering, death and resurrection of Christ, who defeated everything that violated human dignity, while the believers gave messages of peace to everyone.

Even in Fushe Arrëz, the Christmas vigil was held at the Saint Joseph church in the area, as believers waited for the birth of Christ with prayers for a better world without wars.

The religious leaders invited the faithful to extend the hand of peace and unity in this vigil as they added that the world needs more than ever to follow the example of Christ.
