2 people arrested by order of the Special Prosecution against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK), are expected to appear before the court this Monday at 10:30, for the Tirana Incinerator affair.
Earlier on, the Special Prosecutor’s Office issued 15 arrest warrants, after the investigations started for the concession awarding procedures for the Tirana incinerator, which involved officials and former officials of the Ministry of Environment and the Municipality of Tirana.
With the decision of the court, the measure of arrest in prison has been set for the former Minister of the Environment Lefter Koka as well as the former secretary of this minister Alqi Blako, both convicted for abuse of office, corruption and money laundering for the other two incinerators of Fier and Elbasan. .
The same measure has been given to the administrators of the company that obtained the right to build the incinerator in Tirana, Klodian Zoto and Mirel Mërtiri, while they are still announced in search for the construction of the incinerators in Fier and Elbasan.
Zoto and Mertiri were convicted in absentia for corruption and money laundering.
