Albanian government has approved the agreement with Italy for African immigrants who will come to our country. It has been learned that this decision has entered into force immediately, meanwhile it is already expected to pass in the parliament.
We remind you that Italy builds structures for the stay of migrants entirely at its own expense. The maximum number of people who can stay sheltered at the same time is no more than 3 thousand people.
Italy bears all expenses for the sheltered migrants including: any health care costs, any other unforeseen costs that may come to the Albanian side.
“In support of Article 100 of the Constitution and Article 17 of Law No. 43/2016, “On International Agreements in the Republic of Albania”, with the proposal of the Minister of Defense and the Minister of the Interior, the Council of Ministers decided:
The proposal of the draft law “On the ratification of the protocol, between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and the government of the Italian Republic, for the strengthening of cooperation in the field of migration”, for consideration and approval in the Assembly of the Republic of Albania, according to the text and the report that are attached to this decision.
The decision takes effect immediately”.
