The preliminary hearing for the mayor of Rrogozhina, Edison Memolla, has been postponed. Journalist Ermal Vija told ABC that the reason for the postponement of the session was the absence of the prosecutor of the case, Edvin Kondili.
Memolla has been charged with election corruption. Regarding this case, the Special Prosecutor’s Office has completed the investigations and has sent three more defendants to trial. According to the prosecution, Memolla influenced the defendant Blerim Xhamani, with the duty of electrician at FSHU (Universal Service Provider) Durrës, Rrogozhinë branch, not to cut off electricity to a debtor subscriber, with the aim of voting in his favor in the elections local on March 6, 2022.
According to SPAK, the investigations have shown that Memolla communicates with Blerim Xhamani, also for employment in the Municipality in exchange for votes. While the defendant Ndriçim Tafxhafa, has promised a citizen to pay off obligations to OSHEE and for housing, asking her to vote in favor of a certain candidate in the partial local elections to be held in Rrogozhina on 06.03.2022.
Also, the defendants Blerim Xhamani and Isuf Tosku have falsified the data in the minutes of the interruption of electricity, presenting false data, since they have not actually interrupted the electricity of the debtor subscriber.
