A 30-year-old mother who abandoned her child in the basement of a building in the Yzberisht area is being kept under police custody.
According to Article 124, “abandonment of minor children”, when the offense has caused serious damage to the child’s health or death, is punishable by imprisonment from three to ten years.
Before the investigative group, she said that she committed the act because she could not support and take care of her newborn son.
Among other things, she stated that she was ashamed to give birth to the child in the maternity hospital and then leave it there, and as a solution she saw the possibility of abandoning it in the garage of the palace in Yzberisht.
Meanwhile, the child continues to be in a critical condition for life in the maternity ward.
