The 3-year-old child was sent to a clinic to fill a tooth due to pain. After the doctor took the x-ray, he told the parents that the child needs 13 or 14 teeth for adjustment.
Due to the high number of teeth, it was decided to intervene with narcosis. After it is over, the child has not woken up and the doctor has told them to go to bed because he will wake up.
Even at home, the 3-year-old did not wake up and they called the clinic, but they did not answer the phone. Then they sent him to the pediatrician and he stayed in a coma for 2 days and died. The police have taken the first steps, the doctor and the staff of the clinic have been interrogated and they have stated that they gave him the right amount, according to them, of anesthetic drugs.
The case has been referred to the prosecutor’s office for the criminal offense of “negligence in medication”, which is considered a criminal misdemeanor and not a criminal offense according to the Criminal Code.
The police and the prosecution are waiting for the autopsy of the 3-year-old to carry out other actions./abcnews.al
