The Minister of Education, Evis Kushi, declared today that students from the first to the third grade will no longer have the obligation to return the books that are distributed for free. The obligation to return the books will be from the fourth grade onwards. According to the minister, this decision was taken because the books in this category of students are damaged the most.
“The goal is to ease the financial burden for families who do not have the conditions for textbooks. They are free-to-use textbooks. So they will return the books to be used by other students. This is repeated for 3 years and then others are bought.
Today, due to a request, texts from the first to the third will be given for free every year. So the students will keep the books. This happened because young students not being able to maintain the book, but also the programs that have notes and exercises and cannot be used anymore.” Minister Khushi said.
Meanwhile, Kushi said that the decision has been taken to request an addition to the state budget, which will go as a reward for elite athletes.
