Two friends have provided new details regarding the murder of Klodian Rasha, the 25-year-old man who was shot dead by a police officer on Dritan Hoxha Street in Tirana.
They told in a statement to the media that Klodian was not armed at the time of the murder. According to their version, the 25-year-old had gone out of the anti-Covid regulation schedule to buy a pack of cigarettes.
“We have been friends with Klodian for 20 years. He has been a man who has enjoyed the respect of every human being. The night that the event took place, Klodiani was with his friends until 11.00 at night. Klodian was not armed. He has never had a gun in his life because he had no problems with anyone. The family knows best that he had no guns, either at home or in the neighborhood. He was a man who respected everyone, he was not a man who could be considered dangerous. He went out despite curfew in order to buy cigarettes at a kiosk in Don Bosko. It was very calm nature”, said one of his friends.
Moreover, the victim’s friend stated the action of the police was illegal and that within a short time 3 different notifications were given. “I consider the action of the police illegal. Within a short time, they gave 3 different announcements -he was arrested, he had an accident and then he died. Then, after 4 hours, the weapon was found, 100 meters away from the place, when he was shot in the back. This does not make sense”, he said.
Then, Rasha’s other friend added: “More than we have lost our friend, we are saddened by the fact that his figure has been tarnished. It is not true he had serious health problems.”
In the early hours of Tuesday, Klodjan Rasha, 25 years old, was shot dead by a police officer, after the latter felt threatened because, according to him, the victim had a gun.
The victim had gone out beyond the allowed time of movement due to anti-coronavirus measures, meanwhile, the preliminary investigation of Service for Internal Affairs and Complaints has concluded that it is suspected that the actions of the police officer are contrary to standard procedures for the use of firearms./abcnews.al
