The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during his speech in Lac said that he and his staff are close to Albania right after the earthquake of 26th November in 2019 because of the brotherhood between our peoples, but also to the fact that the Turks have often faced such tragedies.

“The joy of Albania is our joy and the sorrow of Albania is our sorrow. We consider your well-being and peace as ours. “Two earthquakes have happened to us in recent years, which along with previous earthquakes hurt our hearts as well as the earthquake that occurred in Albania”, said Erdogan from Laç, adding that a sign of brotherhood is not to go to help when you call, but when he sees that the brother needs.

Erdogan also attacked other major states from Laç, stressing out that while they close their borders during the pandemic, Turkey is close to the peoples in need.

“During the pandemic, while those big countries were closing in on themselves, closing their borders, closing their eyes, we did not do that, but we ran to help by going outside the borders to help our brothers,” he said.

“We made a decision by signing a memorandum of understanding that the houses, apartments, which were dilapidated, be rebuilt, rebuilt from scratch. ”Today we are handing over these apartments, which are 522 housing units, which have cost 42 million euros”, stressed the Turkish President.

After the visit to Lac, Erdogan will hold an inauguration ceremony of the “Et’hem Beut” mosque in Tirana and then will deliver a speech in the Albanian Parliament.
