US Ambassador Yuri Kim reacted to the SPAK operation, where Lushnja Mayor Fatos Tushe and 11 other employees were arrested. In a post on social media, Kim writes that no one is above the law and that the time has come to stop corruption.
“If you are involved in corruption, no matter how powerful you think you are now is the time to consider the impact your actions will have on your family and your country. It’s time to consider whether it is worth going to jail. Now is the time to stop. “No one is above the law,” the ambassador wrote.
Tushe was arrested by order of the Special Prosecution after he is suspected of having issued a construction permit in violation of the law.
