The international factor seems to have influenced the process of discussing electoral reform. It has been moved out of the Parliament for the first time, with the presence of all political parties.

Today’s two mandated representatives of the united opposition, former MPs Petrit Vasili of the SMI and Oerd Bylykbashi of the DP, sat down at a table with the two co-chairs of the special parliamentary commission for electoral reform, Damian Gjiknuri and Rudina Hajdari.

According to journalist Esiona Konomi’s report for abcnews.al, Damian Gjiknuri and Oerd Bylykbashi are thought to have had secret meetings between them consistently for months, away from public and have agreed in some issues.

A depoliticization of the electoral administration has been accepted, but incomplete. At the end of the meeting they will need to be informed of what the parties have agreed to.

As has been known by the SP, the 4-persons at the meeting  seems ready to continue their work on Electoral Reform until it will be finalized.

We will have to look  Rudina Hajdari’s insistence on changing the system, even though the majority and opposition have lacked the will to take such a step. /abcnews.al
