President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj commemorated this Monday the massacre of Recak, which happened on January 15, 1999 in Kosovo.
Through a post on social networks, Begaj underlined that the memory of the Reçak massacre is a strong motive to protect peace, security, freedom and human dignity from any machine of violence that is fueled by racism, expansion and hostility towards others.
Meanwhile, President Begaj also honored the former head of the OSCE Verification Mission, William Walker, who echoed what happened in 1999.
“Today, a quarter of a century since the massacre of Recak, we pray for the souls of innocent civilians, victims of genocide and crimes against integration committed by Slobodan Milosevic’s regime in Kosovo. January 15, 1999, awakened the world to reflect on the barbaric massacres that were carried out in Kosovo. Today, this memory is a strong motive to protect peace, security, freedom and human dignity from any machine of violence that is fueled by racism, expansionism and hostility towards the other,” wrote Begaj on Facebook.
