President Bajram Begaj has decreed the appointment of Adea Pirden as the head of the Ministry of State for Public Administration and Anticorruption.
This decision has come few days after Prime Minister Edi Rama proposed the approval of the new member of the government cabinet to head this newly created minister.
“In support of Article 93 and Article 98, point 1 of the Constitution, at the proposal of the Prime Minister, I decree” Ms. Adea Pirdeni is appointed Minister of State for Public Administration and Anticorruption. This decree enters into force immediately”, as quoted from the letter of the decree signed by President Begaj.
In the announcement regarding the creation of this ministry, Prime Minister Rama emphasized that this change comes at a time when Albania is in a new phase of development and is working on the chapters of negotiations for membership in the European Union, which require a new approach to public administration.
