Altin Dumani says that SPAK is not indifferent to the decision-making of KPK(Independent Qualification Commission) and KPA(Special Appellate College), regarding the vetting process.
During his speech at the National Council of European Integration, Dumani said that from their decisions, SPAK receives indications to carry out criminal prosecutions and property investigations.
“I have clarified before. The competence that SPAK has in relation to the entities subject to vetting must be taken into consideration. We have jurisdiction over the judges of the Constitutional Court, the Supreme Court, the General Prosecutor’s Office, and in relation to these entities, we have prosecuted, we have sent for trial, several members of the Supreme Court, the Constitutional Court, who have been dismissed from the vetting process.
We also have guilty verdicts, precisely for this category of subjects that are within our competence. We also have property investigations, we have reached the confiscation of property, and the property of the subjects we have accused have been seized and are in the process of being confiscated. We are not indifferent to the decisions of KPK and KPA.
Regarding the decision-making of KPK and KPA, we have had cases, on our own initiative, we have registered criminal proceedings, for prosecutors and judges, where from the simple reading of a decision, we get indications that we can start criminal proceedings.
As for the subjects that are under our competence, there are members of the Supreme Court and the Constitutional Court that we have in criminal prosecution, but also in property investigation”, he emphasized./abcnews.al
