Constitutional amendments to the Electoral Code will be reviewed by the Assembly next week. This decision was taken today, at the meeting of the Conference of Mayors where it was decided that the drafts for open lists and pre-election coalitions to be reviewed by the Law Commission in the session of 1st October, ie to be included in the agenda.

The majority and the parliamentary opposition have submitted a draft, while Gjiknuri has warned that with or without the extra-parliamentary opposition, the constitutional changes will be reflected in the Electoral Code within the deadline.

The United Opposition submitted a formal request with 5 issues on which it does not agree in the Political Council. This was rejected by the majority, which, through Gjiknuri, said that concrete drafts were needed and that “political rhetoric” could not be sent to the ODIHR.

The three-week calendar of works for the period September 28-October 16 was also approved during the meeting.

It was also decided that the plenary sessions will continue to take place with the physical presence of the deputies, respecting the safety protocols for protection against the Covid-19 pandemic.  /abcnews.al/
