Chairman of the Democratic Party (DP) Lulzim Basha seems convinced that former soldiers and leaders of Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) was just in front of aggression and ethnic cleansing crimes by Former President of Serbia Slobodan Milosevic’s regime.
In Basha’s opinion, members of the Liberation Army, who fought in “this unequal war” have faced and the various accusations against them and have walked tall and victorious from this process.
DP’s Chair released the statement after Hashim Thaçi resigned from the position of President of Kosovo as the Special Court in the Hague indicted him on war crimes.
“Kosovo Liberation Army war was a just war in front of the aggression and crimes against humanity and ethnic cleansing that Milosevic’s criminal regime was carrying out against the unprotected population in Kosovo. The members of KLA, participants in this unequal war, have faced and come out honored to the different accusations raised against them. Other fighters are facing them today.
I am convinced that also they, from President Hashim Thaçi, PDK Chairman Kadri Veseli, former Speaker of Parliament Jakup Krasniqi and other KLA fighters, will prove to justice and the world that the indictments against them are baseless.
No one can equate the victim with the aggressor. No one can equate KLA’s just struggle for human dignity and freedom with the massacres and genocide done by Milosevic’s criminal hordes against Kosovo’s civilian population”, marked Basha among other things./abcnews.al
