Opposition leader Lulzim Basha met Saturday with the European Commissioner for Internal Affairs, Ylva Johansson and after this meeting has clarified some of the issues discussed.

He stressed out that after  25 April, Albanians will have dignified salaries and the opening of negotiations that will come from the government led by him will not be seen as an opportunity to escape but as an opportunity to go abroad to visit new places and their relatives.

“I was pleased to receive the EU Commissioner for Home Affairs. At a time of extraordinary challenges for the EU and Albania, I introduced her to our plan for the fight against organized crime and corruption, which are the two main obstacles to why Albania has stalled in terms of the opening process of negotiations. In particular, I onform her of our anti-mafia plan and the political will to implement it after the 25 th April  elections.

I worked closely with the EU Commissioner for Home Affairs when we abolished visas for Albanian citizens and recalled how the cooperation at that time, ie the conditions that led to the reforms and reforms that led to the benefits that Albanians enjoy today, biometric passports, identity cards. The digitalization of the border system brought something unimaginable 11 years ago that Albanians move without visas to the EU.

The commitment to meet these conditions will bring a real improvement in the life of Albanians”, declared Basha./abcnews.al
