Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted again to Greece’s statement on the 12-mile expansion.

Through a Facebook status, Rama writes that the politics and media has been poorly informed and that the statements of the Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis are fair and in accordance with the “Convention on the Law of the Sea”.

Rama writes that “The sea border is not like a fence between two houses and when the Greek authorities say we will expand from 6 to 12 miles, this does not mean that Greece will swallow Albanian territorial waters, but that Greece is simply exercising the right that has from the Convention of the Law of the Sea, adopted in Montego Bay in 1982 ”.

According to the Prime Minister, Mitsotakis’ statement in the Greek parliament has been distorted by those who are ignorant about this issue and by those who use it as an argument for power.

Such a thing, was done by Albania in 1990 and has never been contested by our neighbors and still remains in force today, stated Rama.

At the end of the  message, the Prime Minister writes:

“I and the Socialist Party can have many flaws and we can make many mistakes, but we will never use power on the detriment of the national interest!”/abcnews.al
