Albania and WHO sign agreement to deal with the pandemic situation. During her speech, the Minister said that this agreement will be a guide for the steps to be followed. She said that so far Albania has three scenarios ahead, including the opening of regional hospitals that will enable the provision of 1600 beds in total.

“This situation is not easy. We are in a battle more than 8 months. Let do not forget that Albania a year ago was affected by a strong earthquake and thanks to the help of partners we managed to recover.

Health is our first priority, so we have taken and are taking steps to overcome it with patience and courage. Solidarity is the thread that unites us in the next battle for public health. From day one the government is committed to dealing with the pandemic situation.

Albania has become part of a clinical study with WHO and we are working with participating countries. For the first time we become part of a clinical study of this level. The Albanian government has signed an agreement with COVAX to have a safe and effective vaccine. Today we sign an important agreement that is not typical that we have signed every two years. Not that something has changed in the essence of our cooperation but because the situation we are in today leads us to a real commitment.

This agreement is a real commitment to strengthen the country’s capacity and control the pandemic, address health determinants, and improve access to the health sistem, Manastarliu stated among others./abcnews.al
