Albania has received this Monday the first doses of the Russian vaccine ‘Sputnik V’. This noon, 10 thousand doses of the Russian vaccine arrived at the “Mother Teresa” airport.

The vaccines were received at Rinas Airport by the two ministers, Ogerta Manastirliu, Minister of Health and Arben Ahmetaj, Minister of Reconstruction. They said the vaccines were a gift from the Crown Prince of the United Arab Emirates, Muhammed Bin Zayed.

About a week ago, the Albanian government gave the green light to the use of Russian and Chinese vaccines, which changes the procedures for allowing the entry and administration of anticovid vaccines in Albania for their use in the population.

In the change made in the new normative act, Albania opens the door not only to vaccines approved by the American and European drugs agency, but also to vaccines which have the approval of the authorities in the respective country where these anticovid vaccines are produced./abcnews.al
