The European Union foreign ministers have reached a political agreement the day before to open membership talks with the European Union of Albania and Northern Macedonia.
In the meantime, the member states have completed the written procedure for the decision to open accession negotiations with Albania and Northern Macedonia.
Sources for ABC News suggest that the decision of the ministers of European affairs is now up to the 27 heads of state and government of the European Union for approval.
Meanwhile, it is officially expected that the decision to open membership negotiations will be made after the approval of 27 European leaders on March 26 and 27./abcnews.al
