President Ilir Meta met today with environmentalists and environmental experts in the framework of World Environment Day. Meta says that we must protect Vjosa, the last and largest river in Europe by declaring it a National Park as soon as possible. The head of state says that caring for the environment is a mission, responsibility and obligation to generations.
“In the framework of World Environment Day, together with environmentalists, environmental experts and civil society activities, we organized today an awareness event to encourage the Government and encourage citizens, organizations and scientists to defend the causes for the protection of the environment and the extraordinary natural resources that God has forgiven Albania, but that so many have been endangered in recent years by misuse and serious damage.
To protect the Vjosa, the last great and wild river of Europe, declaring it as soon as possible, together with Shushica and Bençe, the main branches that supply it with water, National Park. “Caring for the environment is a mission, responsibility and obligation to the generations to come”, writes Meta. / abcnews.al
