The head of the Municipality of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, received in a meeting the ambassador of France in Albania, Catherine Suard.
The focus of the meeting was the signing of a cooperation agreement in the digital and innovation field, which according to Mayor Veliaj will bring a new spirit and energy in terms of cooperation between Tirana and Paris.
Veliaj added that the concretization of these initiatives is in the wake of the commitments undertaken after the visit that the President of France made to the Albanian capital and the return of Prime Minister Rama’s visit to Paris. According to the mayor, the Municipality of Tirana will be responsible for some of the activities agreed between the Albanian and French sides, including the initiative to create the “French Cube”, which will have its activity at the Pyramid of Tirana.
Veliaj appreciated and expressed enthusiasm for the special relationship between the two capitals, as he mentioned the fact that at the beginning of May there will be a meeting with the mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo, to further strengthen the bridges of cooperation between France and Albania.
For her part, the French ambassador, Catherine Suard, evaluated the level of cooperation between the two countries. For Ambassador Suard, the concretization of these initiatives will enable the further strengthening of the ties between France and Albania.
