Aldi Allushi, the driver who ended up at the Tirana Artificial Lake’s dam with his BMW “x6” in the early hours of Tuesday morning, was detained by the traffic police on Arbri street later in the afternoon.
Initially, the 26-year-old denied having been the driver of the luxury vehicle, but then he claimed that the gas pedal had stuck. From the security cameras along the area, it turned out that there were two other young people in the vehicle.
One of them has been accompanied by the Police, while the other is wanted for questioning. Allushi was arrested at 15:00 on Tuesday, and Eldi Allushi was given an alcohol test and it did not result in the effect of alcoholic beverages.
Despite this, the Police have doubts that at 5 o’clock in the morning when the accident occurred, he may have been drunk or drugged. To confirm this suspicion, a blood sample was taken and the tests’ results are pending.
Before arrest, Eldi Allushi’s driver’s license was found inside the vehicle.
