Today, early parliamentary elections are being held in Montenegro, the sixth since the restoration of the country’s independence in a referendum in 2006. Voting started at 07:00 and so far no major incidents have been reported.
ABC News reporter Linda Karadaku is in a school in Podgorica, which serves as a polling station. She says that the turnout is low compared to the presidential elections, i.e. the first and second round of the presidential elections.
Thus, Karadaku emphasizes that according to the polls, the favorite party is Europe Now, followed by the Democratic Socialist Party.
“So far the voting is very calm and there is no concern where we are. We have been told that the turnout is low compared to the presidential elections, i.e. the first and second round of the presidential elections.
The favorite party so far is Europe Now, which is expected to win 29%, but there are analysts here in Montenegro who put it higher than that. Meanwhile, the second, according to the polls, is the Democratic Socialist Party,” she said./abcnews.al
