GJKKO has accepted the request of the Special Prosecution for the transfer of the case of the former head of the Constitutional Court, Bashkim Dedja. SPAK completed the investigation in the summer of last year and submitted the file to the GJKKO, which has decided today to start the trial.
Dedja is accused of committing the criminal offense of “Refusal to declare, non-declaration, concealment or false declaration of assets, private interests of elected persons and public servants or any other person who has a legal obligation to declare”, committed in the form of a declaration false.
In addition to the accusation, SPAK also requested the seizure of Bashkim Dedja’s property a few months ago, arguing that it was hidden. It is about an apartment of Dedja in Golem of Kavaja. The SPAK request was accepted and in April last year the GJKKO decided to accept the request.
Bashkim Dedja was among the first names caused by the Justice System after the start of the functioning of the vetting bodies. In the then decision, KPK found that Dedja did not justify wanted property, specifically a property he had in Tirana with his brother.
SPAK then launched an investigation revealing that he also had a property in Golem.
