Ambassador of the United States of America, in Tirana, Yur Kim, has reacted regarding the recommendation that the IOM received from the Public Commissioner to appeal the decision of the KPC regarding the confirmation in office of the Chief Prosecutor of Tirana, Elisabeta Imeraj.
Kim urged for courage and integrity to deliver justice, in order for Albania to move forward, step by step.
“In line with its Constitutional role in the vetting process, the International Observers yesterday recommended to the Public Commissioners to appeal the Independent Qualification Commission’s decision in an important case.
We should all watch closely what happens next. Will the response be to show courage and integrity to deliver justice or, as we have seen too often in the past, to divert efforts by attacking the vetting process and slandering international monitors?
Will media serve the public and cover this issue with integrity, or will they receive phone calls and agree to stay silent and blind? It’s time to show courage and integrity.
