Prime Minister Edi Rama held a joint press conference with the Under secretary of State for Economic Development, Energy and Environment, Keith Krach.
The Under secretary is in Albania to sign a US funding memorandum for the Skavica hydropower plant.
Rama expressed his gratitude to the American official, while describing it as an important project. Rama also publicly expressed his wish for the best possible recovery of Donald Trump, who is infected with Covid-19.
“We are grateful to the United States for the un conditional support they have given to Albania since the first day of coming out of the darkness of communism on the path of reforms and efforts to build a democratic state.
We are also grateful to the US for their contribution to our regjion, thanks to them today we are in a different reality from that of not many years ago.
The memorandum we sign today on economic cooperation between Albania and the US will significantly affect the opening of a new chapter. Construction of Skavica HPP that turns Albania from a rich country to a sovereign country in terms of energy production.
The Prime Minister stopped once again in Donald Trump’s letter on the 5G network.
“About the letter I received from President Trump, I want to reconfirm that Albania sees its role in the region not just as a constructive role in building peace and strengthening dialogue but as a proactive role for the old ways of 5G technology.
