Another case of deceiving foreigners through call centers located in Albania has been discovered by the police, as announced this Friday.
In the framework of operation coded “Momentum”, it was possible to arrest two people and two more of the four administrators in a call center subject were announced as wanted.
According to the police, 25-year-old Marjo Kolli and 27-year-old Bjorn Kareco were handcuffed and a 51-year-old and a 32-year-old were searched.
These 4 citizens managed a call center on Rugë e Zalli, in which about 60 employees were employed, who, together with the administrators, called foreign citizens, mainly Italians, presented themselves as sales agents and through fraud, convince them to invest in the fictitious Forex exchange.
During the operation, the following were found and seized as material evidence: EUR 68,000, computer units, mobile devices, tablets, payment mandates and blocks with various data of foreign citizens who were allegedly defrauded to invest in fictitious stock exchanges.
Afterwards, the materials were passed to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of Tirana General Jurisdiction for further procedural actions.
