De puty Prime Minister, at the same time the Minister of Infrastructure, Belinda Balluku and Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, inspected this Saturday the progress of the works in the 5th lot of the Great Ring Road.
During the up-close visit, Veliaj said that this segment is of vital importance because it connects the entire area of Dajti and Fresk, and informed that the Municipality of Tirana will immediately start paying the rent bonus for the 38 apartments that will be demolished for its construction.
“We have passed 38 new apartments to the Municipal Council. So, I have signed the contract and we are convening the City Council, immediately to pass the bonus to you, so that we don’t have any delay. As soon as it becomes clear from the Prefecture, all 38 families who have signed the contract vacate their homes and continue with the opening of the construction site.
But, especially this segment is of vital importance because it connects the entire area of Dajti and Fresk, so there is a discharge. We found Fresco developed, we found Astir developed, but as Astir has been released from that segment, the same will happen to the Fresco area. We are moving in parallel to the area of the Ministry of Culture and the “Marubi” Academy, i.e. the entire Kinostudio, so the entrances and exits, as well as the side streets, will be closed,” said Veliaj.
On her part, Deputy Prime Minister Balluku said that this is one of the most important lots, as it is located in the “heart of Tirana”, which is developing more and more every day.
“The works have progressed, despite the fact that we still have some important works with expropriations for the residents of the area. This is one of the most important lots because it is deep in the heart of Tirana, which is developing. If we look around, all the works that you have done in urban infrastructure within the city or private initiatives, that the construction sector has had, are seriously important, they should be considered.
This part of the Ring, which will connect all the other finished parts, now to close the 28.8 km Tirana Great Ring, which provides infrastructure service not only to the city, but also to all highways, which are connected in it, like the one that goes to the northeast, that of Arbri Street, like the highways that go to the south or the one that goes to the southeast like that of Elbasan, or the highway of Durrës, they are all connected to this very important artery that is the Ring of Greater Tirana”, said Balluku.
Nevertheless, the Great Ring of Tirana has a total length of 28,774 km. Its construction eases traffic and shortens distances, especially for vehicles transiting in Tirana, or moving from the suburbs outside of Tirana.
This road will enable the distribution of traffic and will create new access opportunities to Tirana.
