The assassination of architect Roberto Mottura last June at his home in Piossasco, following a robbery, shocked Italian public opinion. Three foreigners were arrested in October on suspicion of involvement in the robbery that followed Mottura’s murder.
Mottura’s wife had seen the robbers where she also said: “I saw the thieves in my house, they told me not to move and shut up”. Mottura had instinctively tried to protect the family (wife and child) but one of the criminals was killed with a pistol.
There were three of them that evening, which the police suspected were three Albanians handcuffed in October 2021. But now it turns out that two of them (Mergim Lazri and Flagoert Syla) are coming out of prison because they have nothing to do with the robbery and murder. Only Emirjon Marjni or the one who physically pulled the trigger killing the owner remains in prison.
It remains to be seen whether the last of the defendants still in jail will decide to cooperate by giving the names of those who accompanied him to Mottura’s house. /abcnews.al
