As part of the operation codenamed “San Silvestro 2018”, conducted by the Italian anti-mafia of Lecce in cooperation with the Guardia Di Finanza of Brindisi, have been executed 9 arrest for the detainees, including Albanians.
According to Italian media, 5 of them have been left in prison and four of them have been placed under house arrest.
During the investigation of the operation were seized 3750 kg of cannabis, 50 kg of hashish, 1 kg of cocaine, 1 kg of heroin, 6 floating vehicles and 3 cars.
The investigation of the operation was carried out with t Guardia di Finanza department in Durrës and with the Albanian police authorities, where it was revealed that the Albanian citizens living in Italy, organized the establishment of contacts between cannabis producers in Albania and the group of traffickers in Italy./abcnews.al
