After being confirmed as a SP candidate for the Himara elections, Vangjel Tavo has resigned as prefect of the Vlora district. In a letter addressed to the Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, while sending him his resignation, Tavo expresses his gratitude and the privilege that he has held this post in these months.
“Honestly, it has been a great privilege and responsibility that through this task, I had the opportunity to be your representative in the district of Vlora, this wonderful area of our country, always in the attention of the government and the prime minister.
Through this experience, I have met worthy colleagues who have worked with dedication, honesty and professionalism, whom I take the opportunity to thank,” Tavo writes, among others.
Vangjel Tavo was appointed prefect of Vlora on March 13 of this year, replacing Flamur Mamaj, a position he held for a few months. He will face opposition candidate Petro Gjikuria in the August 4 elections.
