A delegation of judges and prosecutors from the United States of America, which has been in Tirana for several days, held a meeting in the premises of the Supreme Court.
In the announcement published by the press office of the Supreme Court, it is stated that the talks were focused on the organization and functioning of the judicial system, the common challenges faced by judges, regardless of the place where they exercise their duties, achievements and continuous efforts to deliver justice and to be as transparent as possible, while maintaining judicial independence and integrity.
The head of the Supreme Court, Sadushi appreciated the contribution of the US government so far, to assist the Supreme Court in reducing the number of backlogged cases, the results of which today are quite visible and welcomed by the Albanian public.
He also expressed the desire for an increase in professional exchange between the judiciary of the two countries, as one of the ways to obtain the best and efficient experiences in terms of the administration of justice, according to the latest developments in information technology.
The American delegation includes Trina Higgins, US Attorney for the District of Utah, Chief Judge Robert Shelby from the District Court of Utah, Judge Paige Petersen of the Supreme Court of Utah.
