In June, Albania intends to apply to the common euro payments area. The statement was made by Prime Minister Rama, during his speech at the EU-Western Balkans summit in Tirana.
In his speech, Rama said that Albania will work hard to carry out this exercise, as he considered, not easy.
“Even though Albania has made significant progress in reforming the justice system, much remains to be done to reach the standards of an EU country. And based on the findings of the legislation x-ray process more than half of what we need to do is related to the rule of law and the judiciary.
What I can say is that Albania is ready for this very challenging and we will work closely with everyone else to move forward quickly towards the common euro payments area, towards the facilitation of trade and transport and the digital market.
I cannot emphasize more than this the need to leave Balkan politics out of this common challenge and to focus all on the success of this extraordinary exercise, but also with many benefits,” said Rama.
