Police: 587 citizens arrested in October

The State Police has made a work balance sheet for the month of October for the identification and attack of illegalities, the prevention of criminal events and the capture of wanted citizens, to guarantee the rule of law, which brings order and security to the citizens. It is reported that 587 citizens were arrested, 56 of whom wanted nationally and 11 wanted internationally.

Through an announcement, the police say that during this month, special plans of measures have been drawn up and implemented for the success of the Berlin Process Summit and the international football matches, which took place in Tirana.

“The engagement of thousands of police officers, cooperation with other institutions and the implementation of restrictive measures and rules by the citizens ensured the success of these activities, which raised the name of Albania in the international arena”, the announcement states.

Also, 104 operations have been finalized throughout the country where criminal activities in various fields have been targeted. 4 of the operations were developed as a result of cooperation and coordination of information with international partners.

587 citizens were arrested, 56 of whom are wanted nationally and 11 are wanted internationally.

As a result of the operations and the daily work of the Police, 557 kilograms of cannabis, doses of cocaine and cannabis, electrical equipment for cultivating narcotic plants, 27 firearms, 9 shotguns, military ammunition, sports weapons, cold weapons, dozens of vehicles and mobile phones, smuggled goods worth almost 150,000 euros, about 15,000 euros profited from criminal activities and about 230,000 euros undeclared at the border crossing points”, says the police.

In addition, preventive seizure was imposed on 16 objects built without permit, in Ksamil, and on various properties in Durrës, Tirana and Elbasan, with a total value of over 3 million euros.
