In the press conference with journalists, the French president, Macron, said that there is no fixed date for EU membership, as something like that does not make sense.
According to him, two things are important to help speed up the process of Albania’s membership in the EU.
“It’s completely true, I was the one who blocked the process. A process was taking place, the meeting was done in safe indifference, it was said that it will take a long time, you are in X chapter, other countries were promised.
So we didn’t say anything, I said this process doesn’t work, this process should be more political.
It cannot be a bureaucratic process, where we open chapters and talk about articles, there must be a commitment and investment of the Europeans.
Two years ago, I proposed the creation of the European political community to gather among equals, to put an end to a hypocritical and inefficient mechanism that was causing resentment in neighboring countries.
I am talking about Serbia, for which I have a lot of respect, which has entered this process for many years and is moving very slowly.
And you are seeing that the membership of the European countries is going backwards in these.
We who are in the EU must make reforms ourselves, we must be sober. In this spirit I want to make this transformation, we still have a lot for this new era of reunification, it is one of the challenges.
Countries that can should move faster. We must maintain ties with Europe, the ties in your countries are exceptional.

Two things are important: the moment you sit around the table, there are no more grandparents and grandchildren, there are only equals. Europe has lost its way in civil wars, it was a hegemonic adventure. No one can say I know.
