Court of Berat has suspended from duty the Director of the Berat Prison, Hiqmet Këlliçi, who was accused of inhumane treatment of a prisoner.
On Thursday, the Court of Berat has accepted the request of the District Prosecutor’s Office of Berat to take the measure of suspension from the duty as the director of the Berat Prison, until the end of the trial on his charge.
Hiqmet Këlliçi is accused of “Committing Arbitrary Actions” against a prisoner serving a sentence in the Berat Prison, a criminal offense provided by Article 250 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
In charge of the director of IEPV Berat is registered so far in the District Prosecutor’s Office of Berat 3 other criminal charges for “abuse of duty”.
