The process against Fatmir Mediu in the Special Court started with tensions and debate between the former Minister of Defense and the families of the victims of “Gërdec”. In the session, the families of the victims addressed the former minister with the words “you are a murderer and the prosecutors are to blame for not arresting you”.
The media and the defense lawyers requested a new expert report on the economic damage that was caused in the weapons dismantling factory in Gërdec, but the judicial body rejected the request of the former minister.
The next session has been decided to be held on May 29, while the 5 experts who have calculated the economic damage will be questioned. “All the requests we are making are being rejected,” said Mediu’s lawyer.
