The special court summoned Sali Berisha to a hearing today at 2:00 p.m. to inform him of the accusation and the security measure against him. But Berisha said he will not go to court. He stated that the decision was made in violation of the constitution.
Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha declared that he is ready to appear at any time in front of the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO), but he would never agree to violate the constitution.
At a time when GJKKO is waiting to question him, Berisha has underlined that he agrees for Constitutional amendments regarding the law for the protection of high officials in such cases, hinting that he may not agree to be questioned today by the GJKKO.
Meanwhile, Berisha told reporters that the “pyramid of fiction” will collapse and he himself will not obstruct any investigative or judicial process. However, Berisha is under investigation by SPAK under the accusation of passive corruption, for the issue of the privatization of the former Partizani complex.
“On unconstitutional decisions. That I do this for myself. As you know, I am the man who sent to the parliament the law which established full equality between every official and the official in the Constitution. This law was returned with the force of Rama. I am ready to vote for him tomorrow. As long as this law is in the constitution, I do not accept any compromise for its violation. I am consulting with lawyers.
At any time, I am ready to appear to be asked about anything. The only thing I do not accept is violating the country’s constitution. Let’s change the constitution. I am the author of the law so that this protection does not exist. Let’s change the constitution, but think about the constitution.
The pyramid of fiction, fraud and forgery will collapse and I guarantee you that I will not hinder any investigative, judicial process, etc”, said Berisha.
