Special Court against Organized Crime and Corruption (GJKKO), has reconfirmed the measure set in absentia “prison arrest” for Leonard Daçi, a lawyer in the Municipality of Bulqiza, part of the group of officials of this institution who were arrested, including the mayor Lefter Alla.
On the day of re-evaluation of the measures, Daçi appeared in the Court where he told the judges that he was part of the persons against whom a security measure was assigned.
Contrary to what the Special Prosecutor’s Office had officially announced, Leonard Daçi, lawyer of the Municipality of Bulqiza, member of the Bid Evaluation Commission, appeared about 2 hours after the start of the session for the appointment of security measures.
He went to the court accompanied by the lawyer Arben Peçi, while he informed the Court that he was one of the suspects, and that in the absence of the security measure “prison arrest” was taken against him.
Earlier on, the mayor of Bluqiza, Lefter Alla, and 12 other people, 7 of them officials of the Municipality, were arrested for abusing a tender worth about 3 million EUR.
The deputy mayor of the Municipality, Enkeleda Lleshi, has also been taken into custody. Their arrest was made after they are accused of favoring Alla’s relative, Aqif Konesha, who carried out the works of the new water supply.
