Elections for mayors of Socialist Party, the application deadline has been extended

400 candidates have expressed interest in running in the new elections to be held in the 61 branches of the Socialist Party for branch chairman.

“Pursuant to the decisions of the Congress, the National Assembly and the Presidency for the internal election campaign for the mayors of 61 party branches in the municipality, until yesterday over 400 names were administered as requests for self-candidacy and proposals by the Socialist Councils in the territory.”

Due to the high interest, the Socialist Party announces that the deadline for application has been extended until May 31.

“In the conditions when the deadline expires today, taking into account the high interest for participation in this process, the Executive Secretariat of the Socialist Party has decided to postpone the deadline for applications and proposals until May 31.

This additional period will serve not only for the administration of new candidacies but also the completion of the necessary documentation from the current candidacies.

Each candidacy must have as accompanying documentation a CV, application form and self-declaration form to guarantee legal integrity. The candidacy platform is a material which will be presented before the assembly of the respective municipality only by the candidates who qualify for the final phase of the competition “.

It is provided that the candidates must have as a rule residence and do the life of the party for a period of not less than one year within the territory of the municipality, to be a member of the party as a rule for a period of not less than three years, to have education high as well as meet the conditions of moral and legal integrity”.
