At the hearing session on earthquake damage to educational institutions, Education Minister Besa Shahini emphasized in her speech that there was an immediate mobilization to control the schools which had damage.
After the earthquake, the Ministry of Education was mobilized to assess damaged schools. Due to numerous aftershocks, there were schools that suffered major damage and this was the reason that a verification had to be made to know exactly which were the damaged schools.
Most important was the safety of the students.
With 21,000 students being transferred to host schools, organizing the transfer was not easy, but it was faster than we expected , thanks to the support of teachers, said Shahini.
She further stated that in the three quake-affected districts, over 120 psycho-social workers have been organized to help cope with emotional distress.
“It’s been developed another plan for schools, has been set reinforcement for earthquake cases based on Italian models as well, ”said Shahini./abcnews.al
