Prime Minister Edi Rama has responded to President of the Republic, Ilir Meta regarding to the recent debate on the extension of Greece by 12 miles in Albanian waters.

As the President said the day before that he would protect the Constitution, Rama asked Meta to remain calm and not entangle with the Constitution and issues of international relations or neighborhood.

“The president should be well informed and do what he should do and not confuse the Constitution of Albania with the law of the sea of Greece, which has nothing to do with Albania. He should not be confused.

He should’t speak as if he is defending the Constitution, because the President and the Constitution have nothing to do with this.

It is like the work of Skrapar Canyons, there are rocks on one side and on the other and water flows in the middle. The convention has given the right to both rocks to take from this water.

So the president should be very calm, because this is not the time to do ‘rafting’ with the Constitution and with an issue of international relations and neighborhood,” said Rama./abcnews.al
