The Security Committee forwarded to the Law Committee all the opposition amendments for amnesty (Alibeaj, Xhaferri, Salianji), not voting for or against any of them, because the Ministry of Justice also asked for time to review them, reports journalist Esiona Konomi.
Earlier during the meeting, the deputy of the Democratic Party, Enkelejd Alibeaj, stated that the criminal amnesty law will be needed to reduce the population in the country’s prisons and to ease them, in order to have more comfortable conditions.
Alibeaj added that the act of pardoning a part of the convicts should be taken as an act of mercy, and not as an act of justice.
