Court session for the former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, in the Special Court, regarding the accusations against him for passive corruption, for the privatization of the former sports complex, “Partizani”, has been postponed this Thursday to 15:00.

Two lawyers assigned by the state to defend Berisha, Jalldiz Kastrati and Rabije Cenalia, who left the session a few moments after it started, saying that it has been postponed.

Meanwhile, in relation to this, there was also an announcement from the Special Court.

“On 26.10.2023, at 10:30 a.m., in the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, a court session was opened for the continuation of the review of the request submitted by the Special Prosecutor’s Office, with the purpose of questioning the citizen under investigation Sali Berisha.

– The court, after verifying the presence of the parties, concluded that the interrogator Sali Berisha had not appeared in person and that the 2 defenders called for appointment mainly by the court, av. Jaldiz Kastrati and av. Rabije Cenalia, had appeared.

On the part of the court, time was given to the defenders to familiarize themselves with the acts of the criminal proceedings of the preliminary investigation phase, forwarded by the Special Prosecutor’s Office, and for this reason, the court hearing was interrupted, to resume today, at 15:00”, as it is stated in the announcement of GJKKO.
